Love for armors

Hi guys! Today I'll be doing a review on something from our childhood. It was also a recent hit in cinemas for all walks of ages. No idea what it is? It's something you build using brick blocks. LEEGGOOOOOOO!!

Been ages since I played with one. Just today I happened across one and thought why not? Got a box for myself. It wasn't an original manufactured by Lego toy though, more of a China bootleg merchandise. But, I am very very very very very impressed(note how I used 5 very's. I am that impressed). For a bootleg model, it has really good details, the joints function well, workmanship was great. If I were to give it a rating of 1- 10 I'd say probably 7, 7.5, maybe 8?

Presenting the
Decool brand. Iron Man variant, War Machine
The packaging looked good, details and illustrations were nice. What's in the box?

The box includes the instruction manual and parts for the War Machine

There was extra parts. They provided extra of those red circle parts.

A look on Rhode's face. He wasn't too pleased.
The War Machine came with two faces, an angry determined looking one on one side, and a calm determined one on the back. Kinda like Good Cop, Bad Cop from The Lego Movie.

Normal face
Not so happy face
Yeah, don't mess with the blac- I mean don't mess with War Machine. He might mess you up.

Fully assembled and put on stand
Helmet open look

I kinda liked the angry look. Gives him more realistic feel. I used the extra red parts for the cannon as extension. Overall it was a solid design, limbs were a bit stiff but a bit of swivelling around should help. Head was a bit lose to the neck connection, the lower torso too. Not much issue though cause they weren't falling off, only loose when you applied slight pressure to remove them.

That's all I guess for this review. Oh, and did I mention I loved Iron Man armors? Yeah. I do.

Till next~

P.s: The instruction manual came with a comic too! Oh joy!

Modelling?? Really now?

So yeah, for those of you readers who have been reading or checking on my blog frequently, THANK YOU SO MUCH! *bows and wipes the manly tears*
I'm touched. No, really, I AM touched, with no hint of sarcasm, not one single bit. As I've mentioned in  my earlier post, I'll be posting some progress on my 3D modelling of the Blade Liger Mirage(ZOIDS).

Here goes =D

How I started off. By emulating the skull of a dog. The main form before  messing the polygon lines.
SO, HOW TO BEGIN!? The question that was screwing up my mind. Luckily for me, I thought of a dog's skull. And that gave me the idea to begin/start off the main form(have to thank one "Bubbles" belonging to a someone). Before I mess with the polygon lines and edges/vertices/face and then, lo and behold the outcome of the head.
And here you have the head, with whiskers. Well, it still has yet to go into perfection messing. SOON...SOON!!!
And once I was done with the head, I went on to the body.

Somehow, it resembled a rocket/cannon/blaster
That's the body..yeah, nothing special bout it yet. And moving on~

Foreleg, with no armor on, YET.
Yes, that's the foreleg. without armor on it yet. But soon..SOON!!! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAH- *cough cough* *hack* *wheeeeezzzzeee* Dang, can't even laugh right. -_-

So yeah, that's all I've got for you readers this round.
Stay tuned yo!

Cheers~

Of kits, and models. Model Kits

*knock knock*
Who's there?
*silence*
Must be one of them kids playing with my knocker again.

Yeap, lame start, but like "they"(maybe just me) say, Lame is the new Cool. So yeah, howdy everything and everyone. Been nothing short of busy lately, what with the submission dates for assignments looming closer like the jaws of a fiery dragon about to swallow it's helpless prey. Truth be told, haven't really had much progression on my assignments.

Ended up getting some reference material for my 3D assignment. Surprised me, myself and I though, that I actually went to this extent to get reference. Not getting a clue to what I'm saying eh? Here's a picture.

Yeap, hello there baby
So, a picture of my current project. Just bought this model kit for my 3D modelling. Reason being?
None.

Juuuusstttt kidding. Reason being, I'm a meticulous person. I need to actually feel and see the thing that I'm modelling so I can actually make it perfect. Yeah, and that pretty much summed...this up?

Scale 1/72, Highend Kit, Blade Liger Mirage, Kotobukiya

The CEREMONIAL un-boxing of the model

It was all good and all, hugging, carrying, lugging the huge box back home via KTM. Dear God, the KTM commuter system, could have been the death of me. The jammed packed-ness and all. The box was no tiny BANDAI HighGrade size yo! But this is still better than the size of a BANDAI PerfectGrade box. THOSE ARE LONG AS THEY ARE HUGE. GOD, bless me.

Right, topic derailed *slaps self*. Where was I? Oh, being happy and all.
Right, so I was happily dragging my haul back home. Taking some memorial pictures of it. Admiring the cover, the art, even...the box itself (Yes, the BOX. You heard me right). Then, the CEREMONIAL un-boxing of the kit.

The change of look on my face was...quite comical to my dear sister. From the happy smiling, grinning look that abruptly transformed to "OH GOD WHY? THIS CANNOT BE HOLY MACARONI PIZZA SHIZZNITS HAPPENING!" face...You get the picture. Here's a simpler picture.

When I saw this,

Oh god...THE NUMBER OF RUNNERS, THE PARTS!
My face turned from this

That HAPPY FACE

To this

To the OH GOD WHY....NUUUUU FACE
And why is this? Cause I got less than a week to complete both the 3D and the model. I guess...good luck and all the best to myself is needed.... I'm gonna really need it. Truck loads of it.

Been almost a year since I last touched Model Kits. Time to dig out the old weaponry, the ancient tools and whatnots to battle this kit. Hope my skills are still....there.

Anyway, will be posting some progress here and there... o_o

Cheers,
Vincent
